Impact Finance Belgium, along with Impact Europe, GSG Impact, GAIL (Global Alliance of Impact Lawyers) and other European NABs released a joint statement as a response to European Comissions’ SFDR Consultation Summary Repor t.

We are pleased to see that there are more support for impact investing within EU’s sustainable field and to see the aknowledgement and support to the view of impact investors in the consultation phase in late 2023. Last year, we submitted the SFDR Joint Letter to Executive Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis and Commissioner Mairead McGuinness which highlights our recommendations to maximize the potential of SFDR.

We strongly encourage the European Commission to carefully consider the outcomes of the public consultation when assessing the existing SFDR framework for its revision. We call on the Commission to establish a voluntary categorization system under the SFDR, recognizing impact investments as a distinct category.
