As NAB we often hear that one of the barriers faced by institutional investors, including pension funds, to investing in impact is the lack of pipeline. Despite a market size for impact investments estimated at €150-180 billion in the Netherlands, investors are often faced with a mismatch between supply and demand of capital.

In this document, the DutchNAB has gathered some inspiring examples of impact investments made by Dutch pension funds over the past 18 months. The report presents publicly available information about the pension funds, their asset managers, and the fund(s) in which they have invested. They also identified the impact strategy of the pension fund, the SDGs addressed and the countries where the investments will be made. Finally, they commented on what they like about each investment.
