IFB signed a statement by Fairtrade Belgium in support of CSDDD.

On April 24, 2024, the European Parliament announced that Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) had adopted the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). This follows the approval of the CSDDD, on March 15, 2024, by the Council of the European Union .

On April 24, 2024, the European Parliament announced that Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) had adopted the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). This follows the approval of the CSDDD, on March 15, 2024, by the Council of the European Union.

IFB along with a few of our members, signed Fairtrade Belgium’s public statement in support of the CSDDD.

The Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) is currently at a crucial stage. There is still a small chance that this important directive will be introduced and that it will provide a harmonized framework and a necessary ‘level playing field’ for business operations that take responsibility for the impact on human rights and the environment.
