The term ‘impact’ is ubiquitous, yet its precise definition often eludes us. What does it truly signify? How does it intertwine with ‘impactframeworks’ such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), scope 1-3 emissions, the theory of change, and the ABC framework?
The term ‘impact’ is ubiquitous, yet its precise definition often eludes us. What does it truly signify? How does it intertwine with ‘impactframeworks’ such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), scope 1-3 emissions, the theory of change, and the ABC framework?
Moreover, how does impact investing distinguish itself from sustainable investment, and do both strategies yield tangible impact? If so, where do these nuances lie?
These questions have spurred inquiry among members of Impact Finance Belgium (IFB), prompting the development of two conceptual frameworks. IFB will unveil these frameworks on Thursday, 28 March 2023. These frameworks serve as an inaugural step toward clarifying terminology and definitions for IFB’s members and the broader ecosystem.
The presentation of these frameworks by Impact Finance Belgium will be augmented by insights from Professor Cristel Dumas of the Brussels Management School ICHEC. Professor Dumas’ reflections, alongside your contributions, will enrich the discourse on impact terminology and the varied frameworks at play.
Programme:
